Look Again is a 32 page picture book for young adults, illustrated with collage. The book explores how childhood imagination gradually turns into adult logic, and how we might reconnect with that lost sense of wonder. It is divided into two parts, Innocent Wonder and Finding It Back.
In the Innocent Wonder section, children and adults respond differently to the same thing. The character on each spread is the same person, just shown at different stages of life. The left side shows the person as a child, and the right side shows the same person as an adult.
In Finding It Back, the child begins to awaken the adult. In the end, the adult reconnects with their childhood self, and they begin to share a freer imagination together. I wanted the book to feel gentle and poetic, and to encourage reflection instead of giving direct answers. Through this book, I hope adults can remember their younger selves, and maybe try to think about things with a child’s mindset again, with fewer worries and fewer rules.
