From Potato to Plate is an educational nonfiction picture book that follows the journey of potatoes as they become different foods found on our tables. Through colorful hand-crafted collage illustrations, the book breaks down food production into simple visual steps, making complex processes accessible and engaging for children.
The illustrations were created using hand-painted papers, cut-paper collage, acrylic paint, colored pencils, and digital composition. Inspired by the visual language of diagrams and factory systems, the book transforms food manufacturing into playful narratives that balance learning with exploration.
This project reflects my interest in combining information design with picture book storytelling, creating educational experiences that are both informative and visually engaging.
